Put in a decent 50 this week. Weight starting to drop some, but still 8 lbs over optimal. Three and half weeks to Beach To Bay, will drop another 5 even if I have to starve myself.
Sunday.
Wanted to do 5 to burn calories. Long day and couldn't hit it until at least 10. Had a Jack and soda instead and called it a week.
Saturday.
4 in AM. 10 at night, slow. 93% humidity, power felt good but still no fun to run in those conditions.
Friday
Walked 3 after work; did light weights.
Thursday.
Easy 7, held back 15 sec / mile.
Wednesday.
16 miles, pulled pace back 15 secs / mile, still hot.
Tuesday.
Light weights and core work during lunch. Walked a couple.
Jogged a couple at night.
Monday
Walk jogged 4 during lunch. Easy 8 at night.
Only about 2% of runners will finish a marathon in less than 180 minutes (3 hours) After four months of intense training, well at that time (20-25 miles/wk), I ran the Houston half-marathon on January 16th, 2005. It was so grueling, I swore that was it. I'll never do another half, let alone a full. Fortunately a running comrade pushed me to do a full marathon. Rededicated, I set a sub 4:00 hour goal for the full Houston marathon the following year. I trained harder than ever and crossed the finish in 3:59; I was hooked. I've now run 21 marathons and this site is my journal to join that exclusive club of those who finish a marathon in under 180 minutes (3 hours). |
