Only about 2% of runners will finish a marathon in less than 180 minutes (3 hours) After four months of intense training, well at that time (20-25 miles/wk), I ran the Houston half-marathon on January 16th, 2005. It was so grueling, I swore that was it. I'll never do another half, let alone a full. Fortunately a running comrade pushed me to do a full marathon. Rededicated, I set a sub 4:00 hour goal for the full Houston marathon the following year. I trained harder than ever and crossed the finish in 3:59; I was hooked. I've now run 21 marathons and this site is my journal to join that exclusive club of those who finish a marathon in under 180 minutes (3 hours). |

Weekly Recap-8 Weeks Until Beach To Bay
Sunday.
Quick four on hotel mill.
Saturday
Traveling to Dubai.

Good 7 on mill before going to airport.

Well, after a week of good eating. Fell off the wagon with junk food today. Back on it tomorrow

Ran 5 in afternoon. Walked one more
Ran 3 at night, walked two more.

Long 14 hr work day. Hit mill four fast four with 5 X 200 meter light strides.

Did three with girls down Oso in afternoon, then another 3 on mill walked one more.
Easy four down Oso at night.
Saturday
Worked part of day, but nice 7 miler with a bit of bump on incline. Good pace.

Surprised myself. Hit the mill and after 4 was ready to quit. Stayed with it and put in a decent, but slow nine. If I could drop 5 more lbs, I could get back to consistent 8-10 milers.
